Bhante, p±cinakhaº¹ar±ji ph±suk±, tattha gacch±m±ti. Thero nagarato dakkhiºadv±rena nikkhamanto kumbhak±rag±mamagga½ paµipajji. Itaro ±ha– “ki½ pana, bhante, ima½ magga½ paµipannatth±”ti? Nanu tvam±vuso, p±cinakhaº¹ar±jiy± vaººa½ abh±s²ti? Ki½ pana, bhante, tumh±ka½ ettaka½ k±la½ vasitaµµh±ne na koci atirekaparikkh±ro atth²ti? ¾m±vuso mañcap²µha½ saªghika½, ta½ paµis±mitameva, añña½ kiñci natth²ti. Mayha½ pana, bhante kattaradaº¹o telan±¼i up±hanatthavik± ca tatthev±ti. Tay±vuso, ekadivasa½ vasitv± ettaka½ µhapitanti? ¾ma, bhante. So pasannacitto thera½ vanditv± “tumh±dis±na½, bhante, sabbattha araññav±soyeva. Th³p±r±mo catunna½ buddh±na½ dh±tunidh±naµµh±na½, lohap±s±de sapp±ya½ dhammassavana½ mah±cetiyadassana½ theradassanañca labbhati, buddhak±lo viya pavattati. Idheva tumhe vasath±”ti dutiyadivase pattac²vara½ gahetv± sayameva agam±s²ti. ¿disassa ±v±so na palibodho hoti.
Kulanti ñ±tikula½ v± upaµµh±kakula½ v±. Ekaccassa hi upaµµh±kakulampi “sukhitesu sukhito”ti-±din± (vibha. 888; sa½. ni. 4.241) nayena sa½saµµhassa viharato palibodho hoti, so kulam±nusakehi vin± dhammassavan±ya s±mantavih±rampi na gacchati. Ekaccassa m±t±pitaropi palibodh± na honti, koraº¹akavih±rav±sittherassa bh±gineyyadaharabhikkhuno viya.
So kira uddesattha½ rohaºa½ agam±si. Therabhagin²pi up±sik± sad± thera½ tassa pavatti½ pucchati. Thero ekadivasa½ dahara½ ±ness±m²ti rohaº±bhimukho p±y±si. So aññatarasmi½ rukkham³le therassa vatta½ katv± “kuhi½ y±s²”ti pucchito tamattha½ ±rocesi. Thero suµµhu te kata½, up±sik±pi sad± pucchati, ahampi etadatthameva ±gato, gaccha tva½, aha½ pana idheva ima½ vassa½ vasiss±m²ti ta½ uyyojesi. So vass³pan±yikadivaseyeva ta½ vih±ra½ patto. Sen±sanampissa pitar± k±ritameva patta½.
Athassa pit± dutiyadivase ±gantv± “kassa, bhante, amh±ka½ sen±sana½ pattan”ti pucchanto “±gantukassa daharass±”ti sutv± ta½ upasaªkamitv± vanditv± ±ha– “bhante, amh±ka½ sen±sane vassa½ upagatassa vatta½ atth²”ti. Ki½ up±sak±ti? Tem±sa½ amh±ka½yeva ghare bhikkha½ gahetv± pav±retv± gamanak±le ±pucchitabbanti. So tuºhibh±vena adhiv±sesi. Up±sakopi ghara½ gantv± “amh±ka½ ±v±se eko ±gantuko ayyo upagato sakkacca½ upaµµh±tabbo”ti ±ha. Up±sik± “s±dh³”ti sampaµicchitv± paº²ta½ kh±dan²ya½ bhojan²ya½ paµiy±desi. Daharopi bhattak±le ñ±tighara½ agam±si. Na na½ koci sañj±ni.
So tem±sampi tattha piº¹ap±ta½ paribhuñjitv± vassa½vuttho “aha½ gacch±m²”ti ±pucchi. Athassa ñ±tak± “sve, bhante, gacchath±”ti dutiyadivase ghareyeva bhojetv± telan±¼i½ p³retv± eka½ gu¼apiº¹a½ navahatthañca s±µaka½ datv± “gacchatha, bhante”ti ±ha½su. So anumodana½ katv± rohaº±bhimukho p±y±si.
Upajjh±yopissa pav±retv± paµipatha½ ±gacchanto pubbe diµµhaµµh±neyeva ta½ addasa. So aññatarasmi½ rukkham³le therassa vatta½ ak±si. Atha na½ thero pucchi “ki½, bhaddamukha, diµµh± te up±sik±”ti? L±bhoti catt±ro paccay±. Te katha½ palibodh± honti? Puññavantassa hi bhikkhuno gatagataµµh±ne manuss± mah±pariv±re paccaye denti. So tesa½ anumodento dhamma½ desento samaºadhamma½ k±tu½ na ok±sa½ labhati. Aruºuggamanato y±va paµhamay±mo, t±va manussasa½saggo na upacchijjati. Puna balavapacc³seyeva b±hullikapiº¹ap±tik± ±gantv± “bhante, asuko up±sako up±sik± amacco amaccadh²t± tumh±ka½ dassanak±m±”ti vadanti, so gaºh±vuso, pattac²varanti gamanasajjova hot²ti niccaby±vaµo, tasseva te paccay± palibodh± honti. Tena gaºa½ pah±ya yattha na½ na j±nanti, tattha ekakena caritabba½. Eva½ so palibodho upacchijjat²ti.
Gaºoti suttantikagaºo v± ±bhidhammikagaºo v±, yo tassa uddesa½ v± paripuccha½ v± dento samaºadhammassa ok±sa½ na labhati, tasseva gaºo palibodho hoti, tena so eva½ upacchinditabbo. Sace tesa½ bhikkh³na½ bahu gahita½ hoti, appa½ avasiµµha½, ta½ niµµhapetv± arañña½ pavisitabba½. Athassa so kammaµµh±na½ datv± ±gantv± lohap±s±de dhamma½ parivattento thero parinibbutoti assosi. Sutv± “±harath±vuso, c²varan”ti c²vara½ p±rupitv± “anucchaviko, ±vuso, amh±ka½ ±cariyassa arahattamaggo. ¾cariyo no, ±vuso, uju ±j±n²yo. So attano dhammantev±sikassa santike taµµik±ya nis²ditv± ‘mayha½ kammaµµh±na½ katheh²’ti ±ha. Anucchaviko, ±vuso, therassa arahattamaggo”ti. Evar³p±na½ gantho palibodho na hot²ti.
Iddh²ti pothujjanik± iddhi. S± hi utt±naseyyakad±rako viya taruºasassa½ viya ca dupparih±r± hoti. Appamattakeneva bhijjati. S± pana vipassan±ya palibodho hoti, na sam±dhissa, sam±dhi½ patv± pattabbato. Tasm± vipassanatthikena iddhipalibodho upacchinditabbo, itarena avases±ti aya½ t±va palibodhakath±ya vitth±ro.
