Tassattho patiµµh±t²ti paµµh±na½, upaµµh±ti okkantitv± pakkhanditv± pavattat²ti attho. Satiyeva paµµh±natthena satipaµµh±na½. Atha v± saraŗaµµhena sati, s± ca upaµµh±naµµhena paµµh±nanti satipaµµh±na½, idamidha adhippeta½. Yadi eva½, kasm± satipaµµh±n±ti bahuvacana½ kata½? Satiy± bahutt±. ¾rammaŗabhedena hi bahuk± t± satiyo.
Idh±ti imasmi½ s±sane, tena ajjhatt±divasena sabbappak±racatucatt±l²savidhasatipaµµh±nanibbattakassa puggalassa nissayabh³ta½ s±sanameva, n±ńńa½ s±sananti d²peti. Vutta½ heta½ “idheva, bhikkhave, samaŗo…pe… suńń± parappav±d± samaŗehi ańńeh²”ti (d². ni. 2.214; ma. ni. 1.139; a. ni. 4.241).
Bhikkh³ti sa½s±re bhaya½ ikkhanako. Tena kińc±pi bhagavato devaloke nis²ditv± satipaµµh±na½ desentassa santike devagaŗa½ muńcitv± ekabhikkhupi nisinno n±ma natthi, tath±pi devo v± hotu manusso v± gahaµµho v± pabbajito v±, sa½s±re bhayanti samm± ikkham±no yath±nusiµµha½ paµipajjam±nova bhikkhu n±ma hoti, n±ńńoti dasseti. Ajjhattanti niyakajjhatta½. K±yeti ettha ±yanti tatoti ±yo. Ke ±yanti? Kucchit± kes±dayo, iti kucchit±na½ ±yoti k±yo. Atha v± aŖgapaccaŖg±na½, kes±d²nańca sam³haµµhenapi k±yo, r³pak±yo, tasmi½ attano k±yeti attho. Viharat²ti iriyati, cat³su iriy±pathesu eken±gata½ sar²rab±dhana½ ańńena iriy±pathena vicchinditv± apatam±na½ attabh±va½ harati, pavattet²ti attho. Bahiddh± k±yeti parassa k±ye. Ajjhattabahiddh± k±yeti k±lena attano, k±lena parassa k±ye. K±lena hi ajjhattabahiddh±k±yesupi ekasmi½ khaŗe k±y±nupassan± uppajjati, paguŗakammaµµh±nassa pana apar±para½ sańcaraŗak±lo ettha kathito. ¾t±p²ti k±yaparigg±hakav²riyena v²riyav±. So hi yasm± kiles±na½ ±t±panato ±t±po vuccati v²riya½, so cassa atthi, tasm± ±t±p²ti vuccati. Sampaj±noti k±yaparigg±hakena sampajańńena samann±gato. Satim±ti k±yaparigg±hik±ya satiy± samann±gato. Aya½ pana yasm± satiy± ±rammaŗa½ pariggahetv± pańń±ya anupassati, v²riyena ca antar± vos±na½ n±pajjati, tasm± yesa½ dhamm±na½ ±nubh±vena ta½ satipaµµh±na½ sampajjati, tesa½ dassanattha½ “±t±p² sampaj±no satim±”ti ida½ vuttanti veditabba½.
Iti k±y±nupassan±satipaµµh±na½, sampayogaŖgańca dassetv± id±ni pah±naŖga½ dassetu½ “vineyya loke abhijjh±domanassan”ti vutta½. Tattha vineyy±ti tadaŖgavinayena v± vikkhambhanavinayena v± vinayitv±. Loketi yv±ya½ ajjhatt±dibhedo k±yo vutto, sveva idha lujjanapalujjanaµµhena loko n±ma. VibhaŖge pana yasm± r³pak±ye pah²na-abhijjh±dayo vedan±d²supi pah²yanti eva, tasm± pańcapi up±d±nakkhandh± “loko”ti vutta½. Tasmi½ loke abhijjh±domanassasaŖkh±ta½ k±macchandaby±p±da½ vineyy±ti sambandho. Imassa ca n²varaŗesu balavadhammadvayassa pah±nadassanena sesan²varaŗ±nampi pah±na½ vutta½yev±ti veditabba½. Visesena cettha abhijjh±domanassavinayena yath±kkama½ k±yasampattivipattim³l±na½ anurodhavirodh±na½, atta-abhiratitadasubh±k±r±dibh±van±nabhirat²na½, abh³taguŗapakkhepabh³tados±panayan±nańca pah±na½ vutta½, tena yog±vacarassa yog±nubh±vanibbattaphala½, yogasamatthat± ca d²pit± hoti.
Ajjhatta½ vedan±s³ti-±d²supi ajjhatt±d²ni vuttanayena veditabb±ni. Ettha pana vedan±ti tisso vedan± lokiy±, tath± citta½, dhamm± ca, tesa½ vibh±go vibhaŖganaye ±vi bhavissati. Kevala½ panettha yath± vedan±dayo anupassanto vedan±di-anupass² n±ma hoti, so nayo dassetabbo. Seyyathida½– vedan±su t±va sukh± vedan± dukkhato, dukkh± sallato, itar± ca aniccato anupassitabb±. “Yo sukha½ dukkhato adda, dukkhamaddakkhi sallato;
adukkhamasukha½ santa½, addakkhi na½ aniccato”ti (sa½. ni. 4.253; itivu. 53).

Imin±va nayena p±¼inay±nus±rena sesacittadhamm±nampi anupassan±k±ro veditabbo. Visesato panettha cittesu aniccat±vasena, dhammesu anattat±vasena ca anupassanto citt±nupass², dhamm±nupass² ca n±ma hot²ti veditabba½. Sesa½ suvińńeyyameva. Aya½ t±vettha padattho.

VibhaŖganayato panettha suttantabh±jan²ye t±va ajjhattabahiddh±tadubhayak±ye kes±dikoµµh±sabh±van±vasena paµhama½ satipaµµh±na½ vitth±rita½. Tath± ajjhatt±d²su pacceka½ s±misanir±misavasena duvidh±na½ sukhadukkha-adukkhamasukhavedan±na½ vasena dutiya½, sar±gav²tar±gasadosav²tadosasamohav²tamohasa½khittavikkhittamahaggata-amahaggatasa-uttar±nuttarasam±hit±sam±hitavimutt±vimuttabhedato so¼asavidhehi cittapaj±nanavasena tatiya½, pańcan²varaŗ±na½, sattabojjhaŖg±nańca sambhav±sambhava-upp±dapah±napah²n±nuppattibh±van±p±rip³rihetujjh±navasena catuttha½ satipaµµh±na½ vitth±rita½. Pańh±pucchakanayepi catunna½ satipaµµh±n±na½ kati kusal±…pe… kati araŗ±? Siy± kusal±, siy± aby±kat±…pe… anup±dinna-anup±d±niy±va, asa½kiliµµha-asa½kilesik±va…pe… anidassana-appaµigh±va. Na het³ ahetuk±va…pe… anuttar± araŗ±v±ti lokuttaravaseneva vibhatt±. Samm±sambuddhena hi suttantabh±jan²yasmińńeva lokiyalokuttaramissak± satipaµµh±n± kathit±, abhidhammabh±jan²yapańh±pucchakesu pana lokuttar±yeva. Tesu ca lokiy± n±n±cittesu eva labbhanti. Ańńeneva hi cittena k±ya½ paggaŗhanti, ańńena vedan±dayoti. Lokuttar± pana catt±ropi maggakkhaŗe ekacitteyeva labbhanti. Ekasmińhi maggacittakkhaŗe ±rammaŗato nibb±n±rammaŗ± ek±va sati k±y±d²su subhasukhanicca-attavipall±sasamucchedakat±ya catukiccas±dhanaµµhena catt±ripi n±m±ni labhat²ti ayamettha vibhaŖganayo.
Kamato satipaµµh±ne, an³n±dhikatopi ca;
p±¼imuttanayo ńeyyo, tattha kosallamicchat±.
Tattha kamato t±va ayampi desan±kkamova, sopi p±kaµ±p±kaµavasena vutto. Im±su hi r³pakammaµµh±na½ p±kaµanti paµhama½ k±y±nupassan± vutt±. Tato ar³pakammaµµh±na½. Tatth±pi ±rammaŗa½ anubhavant² uppajjam±n± vedan± p±kaµ±ti anantar± vedan±nupassan±, tato ±rammaŗa½ vij±nanta½ vińń±ŗa½ p±kaµanti citt±nupassan±, citte p±kaµe tannissit± sukhum±pi dhamm± p±kaµ± hont²ti ante dhamm±nupassan± vutt±. An³n±dhikatoti ettha pana kasm± bhagavat± catt±rova satipaµµh±n± vutt±, an³n± anadhik±ti? Taŗh±caritadiµµhicaritasamathay±nikavipassan±y±nik±na½ mandatikkhavasena dvidh± pavatt±na½ visuddhimaggavasena. Mandassa hi taŗh±caritassa o¼±rika½ k±y±nupassan±satipaµµh±na½ visuddhimaggo, tikkhassa sukhuma½ vedan±nupassan±satipaµµh±na½, diµµhicaritass±pi mandassa n±tippabhedagata½ citt±nupassan±satipaµµh±na½, tikkhassa atippabhedagata½ dhamm±nupassan±satipaµµh±na½ visuddhimaggo. Samathay±nikassa ca mandassa akicchena adhigantabbanimitta½ paµhama½ satipaµµh±na½ visuddhimaggo, tikkhassa dutiya½, vipassan±y±nikass±pi mandassa tatiya½, tikkhassa catuttha½ visuddhimaggoti veneyyajjh±sayato catt±ro vutt±. Subhasukhanicca-attabh±vavipall±sappah±nattha½ v± caturoghayog±savagantha-up±d±na-agatippah±natthampi catubbidh±h±raparińńatthańca catt±rova vutt±, an³n± anadhik±ti ayamettha an³n±dhikat±.
