Tattha atthato t±va kusal± dhamm±ti ettha kusalasaddo ±rogy±navajjachekasukhavip±kesu dissati. Aya½ hi “kacci nu bhoto kusala½, kacci bhoto an±mayan”ti-±d²su (j±. 1.15.246; 2.20.129) ±rogye dissati. “Katamo pana, bhante, k±yasam±c±ro kusalo Yo kho, mah±r±ja, k±yasam±c±ro anavajjo”ti-±d²su (ma. ni. 2.361) anavajje. “Kusalo tva½ rathassa aªgapaccaªg±nan”ti-±d²su (ma. ni. 2.87) cheke. “Kusalassa kammassa katatt± upacitatt±”ti-±d²su (dha. sa. 431) sukhavip±ke. Sv±yamidha ±rogyepi anavajjepi sukhavip±kepi vattati. Yatheva hi r³pak±ye niby±dhit±ya ±rogyaµµhena kusala½ vutta½, eva½ ar³padhammepi kilesaby±dhino abh±vena ±rogyaµµhena kusala½ veditabba½. Kilesavajjassa pana abh±v± anavajjaµµhena kusala½.
Dhamma-saddo pan±ya½ pariyattihetuguºanissattanijj²vat±d²su dissati. Aya½ hi “dhamma½ pariy±puº±ti sutta½ geyyan”ti-±d²su (a. ni. 4.102) pariyattiya½ dissati. “Hetumhi ñ±ºa½ dhammapaµisambhid±”ti-±d²su (vibha. 720) hetumhi. “Na hi dhammo adhammo ca, ubho samavip±kino”ti-±d²su (therag±. 304) guºe. “Dhammesu dhamm±nupass² viharat²”ti-±d²su (d². ni. 2.373) nissattanijj²vat±ya½, sv±yamidh±pi nissattanijj²vat±yameva vaµµati.
Vacanattho panettha– kucchite p±padhamme salayanti calayanti kampenti viddha½sent²ti kusal±. Kucchitena v± ±k±rena sayant²ti kus±, te kuse lunanti chindant²ti kusal±. Kucchit±na½ v± s±nato tanukaraºato ñ±ºa½ kusa½ n±ma, tena kusena l±tabb± parivattetabb±ti kusal±. Atha v± kosalla½ vuccati paññ±, tato kosallato sambh³tatt± kusal±. Ida½ pana anantare vuttañc±ti nibbacanadvaya½ kiñc±pi nippariy±yato ñ±ºasampayutt±nameva yujjati, ru¼h²vasena pana ta½sadisat±ya ñ±ºavippayutt±namp²ti gahetabba½. Yath± v± kus± ubhayabh±gagata½ hatthappadesa½ lunanti, evamimepi uppann±nuppannabh±vena ubhayabh±gagata½ sa½kilesapakkha½ lunanti, tasm± kus± viya lunant²ti kusal±. Attano pana sabh±va½ dh±rent²ti dhamm±, dh±r²yanti v± paccayehi, dh±r²yanti v± yath±sabh±vato ±dh±r²yant²tipi dhamm±. Na kusal± akusal±, mittapaµipakkh± amitt± viya kusalapaµipakkh±ti attho. Na by±kat±ti aby±kat±, kusal±kusalabh±vena akathit±ti attho. Tesu anavajjasukhavip±kalakkhaº± kusal±, s±vajjadukkhavip±kalakkhaº± akusal±, avip±kalakkhaº± aby±kat±.
Ki½ panet±ni kusal±ti v± dhamm±ti v±ti-±d²ni ekatth±ni, ud±hu n±natth±n²ti? Kiñcettha yadi t±va ekatth±ni, “kusal± dhamm±”ti ida½ “kusal± kusal±”ti vuttasadisa½ hoti. Atha n±natth±ni, tikaduk±na½ chakkacatukkabh±vo ±pajjati, pad±nañca asambandho “kusal± r³pa½ cakkhum±”ti-±d²na½ viya. Ath±pi yadi et±ni ekatth±ni, kusal±kusal±by±katapad±na½ tiººampi dhamm±na½ dhammasabh±vena ekatt± kusal±d²nampi ekatta½ ±pajjati. Atha “kusalapadato akusal±dipadassa aññatta½ siy±”ti vadatha, na et±ni ekatth±ni. Tad± dhammo n±ma bh±vo. Bh±vato ca añño abh±voti. Eva½ aññoññ±pekkh±ya abh±vattam±pannehi dhammehi anaññe kusal±dayopi abh±v± eva siyunti? Sabbameta½ ak±raºa½, kasm±? Yath±numativoh±rasiddhito, na hi “kusal± dhamm±”ti-±d²ni pad±ni yath± kusal± kusal±ti, eva½ atthavises±bh±vena paº¹itehi anumat±ni, n±pi kusal± r³pa½ cakkhum±-sadd± viya aññamañña½ anolokitatthabh±vena, atha kho anavajja-iµµhavip±katt±disaªkh±tassa atthavisesassa, sabh±vas±dh±raº±di-atthas±maññassa ca jotakattena yath±kkama½ anumat±ni. Kusala-saddo hi dhamma-saddassa purato vuccam±no kusal±kusal±disabbas±dh±raºas±maññatthad²paka½ dhamma-sadda½ akusal±dito nivattetv± attano attano atthavisesavisiµµhatthad²paka½ karoti. Eva½ pacceka½ bhinnavisay±nampi nesa½ visesanavisesitabbabh±vena pavattiya½ ekatthat±ya paº¹it±numatat±ya yath±vuttados±ropane k±raºa½ vutta½, sabbameta½ ak±raºa½. Eva½ tato paresupi sabbattha yath±nur³pato ñ±tabba½. Aya½ t±va padatthato vinicchayo.
