Parito sabbato bhijjananti lakkhitabb±ti paribhedalakkhaº± Nicca½ n±ma dhuva½, r³pa½ pana khaºabhaªgit±ya na niccanti anicca½, tassa bh±vo aniccat±. S± pana µhitippattar³pa½ µhitiyameva vin±sanabh±vena sa½s²dent² viya hot²ti sa½s²danaras±. Yasm± ca s± bhaªgabh±vato khayavay±k±reneva gayhati, tasm± vutta½ “khayavayabh±vapaccupaµµh±n±”ti. Anukkamena vin±so khayo n±ma, d²pavaµµik±ya saha telassa viya saha nirodho vayoti vadanti.
696-7. Samodh±natoti r±sito. Kec²ti abhayagiriv±sino. Middhar³passa vadanas²l±, middhav±do v± etesanti middhav±dino. Middhar³pa½ n±m±ti utucitt±h±ravasena tisamuµµh±na½ middha½ n±ma r³pa½. Te paµikkhipitabb±ti sambandho. Katha½ paµikkhipitabb±ti ±ha “mun²s²”ti-±di. Natthi n²varaº±ti sot±pattimaggena vicikicch±n²varaºassa, an±g±mimaggena k±macchandaby±p±dakukkuccan²varaº±na½, arahattamaggena thinamiddhan²varaº±nañca pah²natt±. Ayañhettha adhipp±yo– yadi middha½ r³pa½ siy±, appah±tabba½ bhaveyya. R³pakkhandho abhiññeyyo pariññeyyo na pah±tabbo na bh±vetabbo na sacchik±tabbo. “Katame dhamm± nevadassanenanabh±van±yapah±tabb±. Cat³su bh³m²su kusala½, cat³su bh³m²su vip±ko, t²su bh³m²su kiriy±by±kata½, r³pañca nibb±nañca, ime dhamm± nevadassanenanabh±van±yapah±tabb±”ti (dha. sa. 1407) vacanena r³padhamm±na½ pah±n±bh±vato. N²varaºappah±nena bhagavato thomana½ yujjeyya. Yadi siy±, “r³pa½, bhikkhave, na tumh±ka½, ta½ pajahath±ti-±divacanato (ma. ni. 1.247; sa½. ni. 3.33-34) r³passa pah±tabbat±pi paññ±yat²ti? Ta½ na, tabbisayachandar±gappah±nassa tattha adhippetatt±. Ten±ha bhagav± “yo, bhikkhave, r³pe chandar±gavinayo, ta½ tattha pah±nan”ti. Na ca paneta½ na sakk± vattu½ etth±pi “tabbisayachandar±gappah±navaseneva vuttan”ti s±dhakavacanabh±vato, k±macchand±d²na½ tattha pah±nassa anadhippetatt± ca, tasm± “natthi n²varaº± tav±”ti-±divacanehi virujjhanato na middha½ r³panti.

Yadi pana paro da¼ham³¼hagg±hit±ya ta½visayachandar±gappah±navaseneva n²varaºappah±na½ adhippetanti sakav±da½ o¹¹eyya, tassa tannisedhanattha½ puna thinamiddhan²varaºassa avijj±n²varaºena saha sampayogavacanañca ±haranto ±ha “thinamiddhan²varaºan”ti-±di. Thinamiddhan²varaºañceva avijj±n²varaºañca n²varaºena sampayuttanti sambandho. Ida½ vutta½ hoti– “cat³hi sampayogo”ti (dh±tu. 3) vacanato ar³padhamm±nameva aññamaññassa sampayogo labbhati, na r³padhamm±na½ aññamañña½ ar³pena v±, tasm± yadi middha½ r³pa½ siy±, na ta½ sampayogavacanamarahat²ti. Atha siy±– yath±l±bhavacanamettha sakk± viññ±tu½, “sakkharakathalampi macchagumbampi carantampi tiµµhantamp²”ti-±d²su (d². ni. 1.249) viya. Yath± hi “sakkharakathalika½ macchagumbampi carantampi tiµµhantamp²”ti-±d²su sakkharakathalikassa caraº±yogato macchagumb±pekkh±ya caraºa½, ubhay±pekkh±ya µh±nanti eva½ yath±l±bho yoj²yati, evamidh±pi thin±pekkh±ya sampayogavacana½, ubhay±pekkh±ya n²varaºavacananti? Ettha siy±– “pañcime, bhikkhave, ±varaº± n²varaº±”ti-±d²su (a. ni. 5.51) thinamiddhassa n²varaºabh±vena ekato ±gatatt± idh±pi “thinamiddhan²varaºan”ti ekato vutta½, thinameva ca pana ar³pabhave uppajjati thinamiddhanti? Tayidamas±ra½, kukkuccassa na gahitatt±.
