Dhar²yat²ti kal±paparampar±ya sandh±r²yati. S³canatoti attano vatthussa sup±kaµakaraºato. Gandho hi “ida½ sugandha½, ida½ duggandhan”ti pak±seti, paµicchannapupphaphal±d²ni “idamettha atth²”ti pesuñña½ karonta½ viya hot²ti.
Rasam±n±ti ass±davasena tussam±n±. Rasant²ti asanti, anubhavant²ti attho. Ettha ra-k±ro padasandhikaro. Evañhi “rasam±n± na½ asant²ti raso”ti niruttinayo sundaro hoti. Itarath± “rasanti ass±dent²”ti vuccam±ne “rasam±n±”ti ida½ niratthakameva siy±. Atha v± “rasam±n±”ti ito ra-k±ra½, “rasant²”ti ito sa-k±rañca gahetv± “raso”ti niruttinayo daµµhabbo.
298. Phus²yat²ti ghaµµ²yati. Ki½ ta½ phoµµhabba½ n±m±ti ±ha “pathav²tejav±yavo”ti. Imin± dh±tuttayameva k±yaviññ±ºaviññeyyabh±vasaªkh±taphoµµhabba½ n±ma, na aññanti dasseti. Kasm± panettha ±podh±tu na gahit±, nanu s²tat± phusitv± gayhati, s± ca ±podh±tu ev±ti? Sacca½ gayhati, na pana ±podh±tu, kiñcarahi tejodh±tu eva. Mande hi uºhabh±ve s²tavuddhi, na s²tat± n±ma koci guºo atthi. Kevala½ pana uºhabh±vassa mandat±ya s²tat±bhim±no. Katha½ paneta½ viññ±tabbanti ce? S²tavuddhiy± anavaµµhitabh±vato p±r±p±re viya. Keci pana “v±yodh±tu s²tat±”ti vadanti, tesampi idameva uttara½. Yadi v±yodh±tu s²tat± siy±, ekasmi½ kal±pe uºhabh±vena saddhi½ upalabbheyya, na ca paneva½ upalabbhati, tasm± viññ±yati “na v±yodh±tu s²tat±”ti. Ye pana vadanti “dravat± ±podh±tu, s± ca phusitv± gayhat²”ti, te vattabb± “dravabh±vopi n±ma phus²yat²ti ida½ ±yasmant±na½ adhim±namatta½ saºµh±ne viy±”ti. Vuttañheta½ por±ºehi–

299. Sabba½ n±manti sabba½ cittacetasikanibb±nasammata½ n±ma½. Cittacetasikañhi ±rammaºa½ pati namanato n±ma½. Nibb±na½ pana cittacetasikassa att±na½ pati n±manato n±ma½. R³panti nipphannar³pa½. Ki½ avisesen±ti ce, noti ±ha “hitv± r³p±dipañcakan”ti. Lakkhaº±n²ti anicc±dilakkhaº±ni. Paññatt²ti n±mup±d±yavasena duvidh± paññatti.
300. Im±ni pana chabbidh±ni ±rammaº±ni sabb±ni sabbattha labbhanti, ud±hu katthaci k±nic²ti ±ha “cha¼±rammaº±n²”ti-±di. T²ºi r³peti r³p±vacarabh³miya½ r³pasaddadhammavasena t²ºi ±rammaº±ni labbhanti. Gh±n±dittayassa pana tattha abh±vato gandh±rammaº±d²ni dhamm±rammaºato visu½ na labbhanti. Ar³pabhave pana sabbaso r³p±na½ abh±vato eka½ dhamm±rammaºameva labbhati, na aññanti ±ha “ar³pe dhamm±rammaºamekakan”ti Nanu ca ar³pabhavato cavitv± k±mabhave nibbattant±na½ ar³pabhaveyeva gatinimittavasena r³p±rammaºa½ upaµµh±t²ti? Tattha khaºavatthuparittatt±ti khaºassa ceva vatthuno ca parittatt±. Ye r³p±dayoti sambandho. Yesanti yesa½ ±cariy±na½ laddhi. Yesanti v± dhamm±rammaºena saha sambandh²bh±vato, vutta½ vavatth±pakatt± ca. Te hi dhamm±rammaºa½ vavatth±pento attan± saha ta½ sambandhenti, tasm± dhamm±rammaºena saha sambandh²bh±v±pekkh±ya “yesan”ti s±mivacananti. Aya½ panettha adhipp±yo– yadi cakkh±d²nam±p±thagat±ni vin± avases± dhamm±rammaº± honti, tad± ta½visaya½ citta½ pañcindriy±na½ visaya½ paccanubhonta½ n±ma na hoti, attanoyeva pana visaya½ paccanubhonta½ n±ma hoti. Evañca sati manova tesa½ gocaravisaya½ paccanubhot²ti dupparih±riya½ bhaveyya, na ca ta½ suttavacana½ sakk± atikkametu½, tasm± vuttanayena cakkh±d²na½ an±p±thagat±pi manogocar± r³p±dayo r³p±di-±rammaº±neva honti, na dhamm±rammaº±ti.
