Ye pana “davat± ±podh±tu, s± ca phusitv± gayhat²”ti vadanti, te vattabb± “davat± n±ma phusitv± gayhat²ti ida½ ±yasmant±na½ abhim±namatta½ saºµh±ne viy±”ti. Vuttañheta½ por±ºehi–
“Davat±sahavutt²ni, t²ºi bh³t±ni samphusa½;
davata½ samphus±m²ti, lokoyamabhimaññati.
“Bh³te phusitv± saºµh±na½, manas± gaºhato yath±;

Purisaliªg±d²nipi vuttanayena daµµhabb±ni. Aµµhakath±ya½ pana aññath± itthiliªg±d²ni vaººit±ni. Ta½ pana eva½ saªgahetv± vadanti–
“Liªga½ hatth±disaºµh±na½, nimitta½ mihit±dika½;
kutta½ supp±din± k²¼±, ±kappo gaman±dikan”ti.
Bh±var³pa½ n±ma bhavati etena itth±di-abhidh±na½, buddhi c±ti katv±. Ta½ paneta½ k±yindriya½ viya sakalasar²ra½ pharitv± tiµµhati.
8. Hadayameva manodh±tumanoviññ±ºadh±t³na½ nissayatt± vatthu c±ti hadayavatthu. Tath± hi ta½ dh±tudvayanissayabh±valakkhaºa½, tañca hadayakosabbhantare a¹¹hapasatamatta½ lohita½ niss±ya pavattati. R³pakaº¹e avuttassapi panetassa ±gamato, yuttito ca atthibh±vo daµµhabbo. Tattha, ta½ r³pa½ niss±ya manodh±tu ca manoviññ±ºadh±tu ca vattanti “ya½ r³pa½ manodh±tuy± ca manoviññ±ºadh±tuy± ca ta½sampayuttak±nañca dhamm±na½ nissayapaccayena paccayo”ti (paµµh±. 1.1.8) evam±gata½ paµµh±navacana½ ±gamo. Yath±saka½ khaºamattaµµh±y²nampi hi sahaj±t±na½ pavattihetubh±veneva anup±laka½. Na hi tesa½ kamma½yeva µhitik±raºa½ hoti ±h±raj±d²na½ ±h±r±di viya kammassa taªkhaº±bh±vato. Ida½ pana saha p±canaggin± anavasesa-up±dinnak±ya½ by±petv± pavattati.
10. Kaba¼a½ katv± ajjhohar²yat²ti kaba¼²k±ro ±h±ro, idañca savatthuka½ katv± ±h±ra½ dassetu½ vutta½. Sendriyak±yopatthambhanahetubh³t± pana aªgamaªg±nus±r² rasaharasaªkh±t± ajjhoharitabb±h±rasinehabh³t± oj± idha ±h±rar³pa½ n±ma. Tath± heta½ sendriyak±yopatthambhanahetubh±valakkhaºa½, ojaµµhamakar³p±haraºalakkhaºa½ v±.
11. Kakkha¼att±din± attano attano sabh±vena upalabbhanato sabh±var³pa½ n±ma. Upp±d±d²hi, aniccat±d²hi v± lakkhaºehi sahitanti salakkhaºa½. Paricched±dibh±va½ vin± attano sabh±veneva kamm±d²hi paccayehi nipphannatt± nipphar³pa½ n±ma. Ruppanasabh±vo r³pa½, tena yuttampi r³pa½, yath± “arisaso, n²luppalan”ti, sv±ya½ r³pa-saddo ru¼hiy± ata½sabh±vepi pavattat²ti aparena r³pa-saddena visesetv± “r³par³pan”ti vutta½ yath± “dukkhadukkhan”ti. Paricched±dibh±va½ atikkamitv± sabh±veneva upalabbhanato lakkhaºattay±ropanena sammasitu½ arahatt± sammasanar³pa½.
12. Na kassat²ti ak±so. Ak±soyeva ±k±so, nijj²vaµµhena dh±tu c±ti ±k±sadh±tu. Cakkhudasak±di-ekekakal±pagatar³p±na½ kal±pantarehi asa½kiººabh±v±p±danavasena paricchedaka½, tehi v± paricchijjam±na½, tesa½ paricchedamatta½ v± r³pa½ paricchedar³pa½. Tañhi ta½ ta½ r³pakal±pa½ paricchindanta½ viya hoti. Vijjam±nepi ca kal±pantarabh³tehi kal±pantarabh³t±na½ samphuµµhabh±ve ta½ta½r³pavivittat± r³papariyanto ±k±so. Yesañca so paricchedo, tehi saya½ asamphuµµhoyeva. Aññath± paricchinnat± na siy± tesa½ r³p±na½ by±p²bh±v±pattito. Aby±pit± hi asamphuµµhat±. 13. Calam±nak±yena adhipp±ya½ viññ±peti, sayañca tena viññ±yat²ti k±yaviññatti. Saviññ±ºakasaddasaªkh±tav±c±ya adhipp±ya½ viññ±peti, sayañca t±ya viññ±yat²ti vac²viññatti. Tattha abhikkam±dijanakacittasamuµµh±nav±yodh±tuy± sahaj±tar³pasanthambhanasandh±raºacalitesu sahak±r²k±raºabh³to phandam±nak±yaphandanata½hetukav±yodh±tuvinimutto mahanta½ p±s±ºa½ ukkhipantassa sabbath±mena gahaºak±le uss±hanavik±ro viya r³pak±yassa pariphandanapaccayabh±vena upalabbham±no vik±ro k±yaviññatti. Tattha paµisandhito paµµh±ya y±va cakkh±didasak±na½ uppatti, etthantare r³pupp±do upacayo n±ma. Tato para½ santati n±ma. Yath±saka½ khaºamattaµµh±y²na½ r³p±na½ nirodh±bhimukhabh±vavasena j²raºa½ jar±, s±yeva jarat±, niccadhuvabh±vena na icca½ anupagantabbanti anicca½, tassa bh±vo aniccat±, r³paparibhedo. Lakkhaºar³pa½ n±ma dhamm±na½ ta½ta½avatth±vasena lakkhaºahetutt±.

J±tir³pamev±ti paµisandhito paµµh±ya r³p±na½ khaºe khaºe uppattibh±vato j±tisaªkh±ta½ r³puppattibh±vena catusantatir³pappaµibaddhavuttitt± r³pasammatañca j±tir³pameva upacayasantatibh±vena pavuccati paµhamupariniccattasaªkh±tappavatti-±k±rabhedato veneyyavasena “upacayo santat²”ti (dha. sa. 642) vibhajitv± vuttatt±.
