Tattha nibb±nanti bhav±bhava½ vinanato v±na½ vuccati taºh±, v±nato nikkhantatt± nibb±nanti ca pavuccati amata½ asaªkhata½ parama½ sukha½. Vutta½ heta½ “yo so sabbasaªkh±rasamatho sabb³padhipaµinissaggo taºh±kkhayo vir±go nirodho nibb±nan”ti.
770. Yassa c±dhigam± sabba-kiles±na½ khayo bhave;
nibb±namiti niddiµµha½, nibb±nakusalena ta½.
Eta½ ca nibb±na½ n±ma tayida½ santilakkhaºa½, accutirasa½, ass±sakaraºarasa½ v±, animittapaccupaµµh±na½, nissaraºapaccupaµµh±na½ v±ti veditabba½.
Etth±ha– na paramatthato nibb±na½ n±ma eko sabh±vo atthi, titthiy±na½ att± viya, sasavis±ºa½ viya ca anupalabbhan²yatoti? Na, paññ±cakkhun± upaparikkhiyam±n±na½ hitagaves²na½ yath±nur³p±ya paµipattiy± upalabbhan²yato. Ya½ hi puthujjan± nopalabbhanti, ta½ “natth²”ti na vattabba½. Ath±yasmat± s±riputtattherena dhammasen±patin± “katama½ nu kho, ±vuso, nibb±nan”ti nibb±na½ puµµhena “yo kho, ±vuso, r±gakkhayo dosakkhayo mohakkhayo”ti r±g±d²na½ khayova dassito, tasm± r±g±d²na½ khayamattameva nibb±nanti ce? Kiñca bhiyyo– nibb±nassa bahutt±didos±pattito ca. Evañhi sati r±g±dikkhay±na½ bahubh±vato nibb±nass±pi bahubh±vo bhaveyya, saªkhatalakkhaºañca nibb±na½ bhaveyya, saªkhatalakkhaºatt± saªkhatapariy±pannañca, saªkhatapariy±pannatt± anicca½ dukkha½ nibb±na½ bhaveyy±ti.
Kiñca bhiyyo– yadi khayo nibb±na½ bhaveyya, gotrabhuvod±namaggaphalacitt±na½ ki½ nu ±rammaºa½ vadesi, vada bhadramukh±ti? R±g±d²na½ khayameva vad±m²ti. Ki½ pana r±g±dayo gotrabhu-±d²na½ khaºe kh²yanti, ud±hu kh²yissanti, atha kh²º±ti? Ki½ panettha “kh²ºesveva khaya½ vad±m²”ti. Suµµhu upadh±retv± vada bhadramukh±ti, yadi kh²ºesveva khaya½ vadesi, na gotrabhucitt±d²na½ nibb±n±rammaºat± sijjhat²ti. Ki½ k±raºa½? Gotrabhukkhaºe r±g±dayo kh²yissanti, tath± vod±nakkhaºe, maggakkhaºe pana kh²yanti, na kh²º±, phalakkhaºe kh²º±. Eva½ sante bhavato matena phalameva khay±rammaºa½, na itare, itaresa½ pana kim±rammaºa½ vades²ti Addh± so ±rammaºa½ apassanto niruttaro bhavissati. Apica kilesakkhayo n±ma sappurisehi kar²yati, yath±nur³p±ya paµipattiy± upp±d²yat²ti attho. Nibb±na½ pana na kenaci kar²yati na upp±d²yati, tasm± nibb±namamatamasaªkhata½. Tamakata½ j±n±t²ti ariyas±vako “akataññ³”ti pavuccati. Vuttañceta½–
771. “Asaddho akataññ³ ca,
sandhicchedo ca yo naro;
hat±vak±so vant±so,
sa ve uttamaporiso”ti.
Apica “nissaraºan”ti bhagavat± vuttatt± ca. “Nissaraºan”ti hi nibb±nasseta½ n±ma½. Yath±ha “tayo khome, bhikkhave, dhamm± duppaµivijjh±. Katame tayo dhamm± duppaµivijjh±? Tisso nissaraºadh±tuyo. “Atthi nissaraºa½ loke, paññ±ya me suphusitan”ti ca “atthi, bhikkhave, aj±ta½ abh³ta½ akata½ asaªkhatan”ti ca dhammas±min± tath±gatena samm±sambuddhena anekesu suttantesu paramatthavasena vuttatt± “atthi nibb±na½ n±ma eko dhammo”ti niµµhamettha gantabba½. Apica parittattike “katame dhamm± appam±º±”ti padamuddharitv±– “catt±ro magg± apariy±pann± catt±ri ca s±maññaphal±ni nibb±nañca, ime dhamm± appam±º±”ti vuttatt± r±g±d²na½ khayassa appam±ºatta½ katha½ yujjati, tasm± paramatthato atthiyeva nibb±na½ n±ma eko sabh±voti. Ta½ pana pakativ±d²na½ pakati viya, titthiy±na½ att± viya ca sasavis±ºa½ viya ca n±vijjam±na½.
Atha paññattimatta½ nibb±nanti ce, tampi ayutta½. Kasm±? Nibb±n±rammaº±na½ cittacetasik±na½ navattabb±rammaºatt±. Katha½? Paritt±rammaºattike ca pana “katame dhamm± appam±º±rammaº±”ti padamuddharitv± “catt±ro magg± apariy±pann± catt±ri ca s±maññaphal±ni ime dhamm± appam±º±rammaº±”ti hi vutta½. Yadi panetesa½ paññatti-±rammaºa½ siy±, appam±º±rammaºat± na yujjeyya, navattabb±rammaºapakkha½ bhajeyyu½. “Navattabb±rammaº± pana r³p±vacarattikacatukkajjh±n± kusalato ca vip±kato ca kiriyato ca, catutthassa jh±nassa vip±ko, ±k±s±nañc±yatana½ ±kiñcaññ±yatana½ kusalato ca vip±kato ca kiriyato ca, ime dhamm± navattabb±rammaº±”ti hi vutta½, tasm± na paññattimatta½ nibb±na½. an±layamar³pañca, padamaccutamakkhara½.
775. Vir±gañca nirodhañca, vimutti mokkhameva ca;
imehi pana n±mehi, nibb±na½ tu kath²yati.

777. Saddh±buddhikara½ tath±gatamate sammohaviddha½sana½,
paññ±sambhavasampas±danakara½ j±n±ti yo ce ima½;
atthabyañjanas±lina½ sumadhura½ s±raññuvimh±pana½,
