804-806. Id±ni dhammadesan±kath± n±ma hoti. Tattha “tusitapure µhito bhagav± dhammadesanatth±ya abhinimmita½ pesesi, tena ceva tassa ca desana½ sampaµicchitv± ±yasmat± ±nandena dhammo desito, na buddhena bhagavat±”ti yesa½ laddhi, seyyath±pi vetullak±naññeva; te sandh±ya pucch± sakav±dissa, paµiññ± itarassa. Tattha piy±yit±na½ vatth³na½ vipattiy± sar±g±na½ r±gavasena karuº±patir³pika½ pavatti½ disv± “r±gova karuº± n±ma, so ca bhagavato natthi, tasm± natthi buddhassa bhagavato karuº±”ti yesa½ laddhi, seyyath±pi uttar±pathak±na½; te sandh±ya pucch± sakav±dissa, paµiññ± itarassa. Tattha yesa½ buddhe bhagavati ayoniso pemavasena “bhagavato ucc±rapass±vo aññe gandhaj±te ativiya adhigaºh±ti, natthi tato ca sugandhatara½ gandhaj±tan”ti laddhi, seyyath±pi ekacc±na½ andhak±nañceva uttar±pathak±nañca; te sandh±ya pucch± sakav±dissa, paµiññ± itarassa. Sesamettha yath±p±¼imeva niyy±t²ti.

5. Ekamaggakath±vaººan±

810-811. Id±ni ekamaggakath± n±ma hoti. Tattha yesa½ buddhe bhagavati ayoniso pemavaseneva “bhagav± sot±panno hutv± sakad±g±m², sakad±g±m² hutv± an±g±m², an±g±m² hutv± arahatta½ sacch±k±si, ekeneva pana ariyamaggena catt±ri phal±ni sacch±k±s²”ti laddhi, seyyath±pi tesaññeva; te sandh±ya pucch± sakav±dissa, paµiññ± itarassa. Atha na½ cat³hi phalehi saddhi½ uppann±na½ catunna½ phass±d²na½ ekato samodh±navasena codetu½ catunna½ phass±nanti-±dim±ha. Sot±pattimaggen±ti-±di “kataramaggena sacchikarot²”ti pucchanattha½ vutta½. Arahattamaggen±ti ca vutte tena sakk±yadiµµhi-±d²na½ pah±n±bh±vavasena codeti. Bhagav± sot±pannoti buddhabh³tassa sot±pannabh±vo natth²ti paµikkhipati. Parato pañhadvayepi eseva nayo. 6. Jh±nasaªkantikath±vaººan±

813-816. Id±ni jh±nasaªkantikath± n±ma hoti. Tattha yesa½ “idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu vivicceva k±mehi paµhama½ jh±na½ upasampajja viharati, vitakkavic±r±na½ v³pasam± dutiya½ jh±na½, tatiya½ jh±na½, catuttha½ jh±na½ upasampajja viharat²”ti (sa½. ni. 5.923-934) ima½ paµip±µidesana½ niss±ya “tassa tassa jh±nassa upac±rappavatti½ vin±va jh±n± jh±na½ saªkamat²”ti laddhi, seyyath±pi mahis±sak±nañceva ekacc±nañca andhak±na½; te sandh±ya pucch± sakav±dissa, paµiññ± itarassa. Atha na½ “yadi te dutiyajjh±n³pac±ra½ appatv± uppaµip±µiy± paµhamajjh±n± dutiyajjh±nameva saªkamati, paµhamato tatiya½, dutiyato catutthampi saªkameyy±”ti codetu½ paµham± jh±n±ti-±dim±ha. Y± paµhamass±ti-±di “yadi paµhamato anantara½ dutiya½, dutiy±d²hi v± tatiy±d²ni sam±pajjati, ek±vajjanena sam±pajjeyy±”ti codanattha½ vutta½. K±me ±d²navatoti paµhama½ k±me ±d²navato manasi karoto pacch± uppajjati. Jh±nakkhaºe panesa nimittameva manasi karoti. Taññeva paµhamanti “yadi purimajavanato pacchimajavana½ viya anantara½ uppajjeyya, µhapetv± purimapacchimabh±va½ lakkhaºato taññeva ta½ bhaveyy±”ti codetu½ pucchati. Imin± up±yena sabbattha attho veditabbo. Vivicceva k±meh²ti-±d²hi paµip±µiy± jh±n±na½ desitabh±va½ d²peti, na anantaruppatti½, tasm± as±dhakanti.

7. Jh±nantarikakath±vaººan±

817-818. Id±ni jh±nantarikakath± n±ma hoti. Tattha yesa½ samaye “pañcakanaye pañca jh±n±ni vibhatt±ni, kevala½ tayo sam±dh² uddiµµh±”ti avitakkavic±ramattassa sam±dhino ok±sa½ aj±nant±na½ “paµhamassa ca dutiyassa ca jh±nassa antare jh±nantarik± n±ma es±”ti laddhi, seyyath±pi sammitiy±nañceva ekacc±nañca andhak±na½; te sandh±ya pucch± sakav±dissa, paµiññ± itarassa. Atha na½ “jh±nampi cetasik± dhamm±, phass±dayopi, tasm± yadi jh±nantarik± n±ma bhaveyya, phassantarik±d²hipi bhavitabban”ti codanattha½ atthi phassantarik±ti-±dim±ha
Dutiyassa ca jh±nass±ti “yadi jh±nantarik± n±ma bhaveyya, dutiyatatiy±d²nipi jh±n±neva, tesampi antarik±ya bhavitabban”ti codanattha½ vutta½. So kevala½ laddhiy± abh±vena paµikkhipati ceva paµij±n±ti ca. Paµhamassa c±ti puµµho laddhivasena paµij±n±ti.
819. Savitakko savic±roti-±di “tiººampi sam±dh²na½ sam±dhibh±ve sam±ne avitakko vic±ramattova sam±dhi jh±nantariko, na itaroti ko ettha visesahet³”ti codanattha½ vutta½.
820-822. Dvinna½ jh±n±na½ paµuppann±nanti paµhamadutiy±ni sandh±ya pucchati. Itaro “tesa½ paccuppann±na½yeva antare avitakko vic±ramatto sam±dhi jh±nantariko n±ma hot²”ti laddhiy± paµij±n±ti. Paµhama½ jh±na½ niruddhanti puµµho tiººa½ ekakkhaºe pavatti na yutt±ti paµij±n±ti Avitakko vic±ramatto sam±dhi paµhama½ jh±nanti catukkanayavasena pucchati. Sakav±d² tasmi½ naye tassa abh±v± paµikkhipati. Nanu tayo sam±dh²ti etth±yamadhipp±yo– yath± tesu t²su sam±dh²su dve sam±dh² jh±n±neva, na jh±nantarik±, eva½ itarenapi jh±neneva bhavitabba½, na jh±nantarik±y±ti.

8. Sam±panno sadda½ suº±t²tikath±vaººan±

823-825. Id±ni sam±panno sadda½ suº±t²tikath± n±ma hoti. Tattha “yasm± paµhamassa jh±nassa saddo kaº¹ako vutto bhagavat±, yadi ca sam±panno ta½ na suºeyya, katha½ kaº¹ako siy±. Tasm± sam±panno sadda½, suº±t²”ti yesa½ laddhi, seyyath±pi pubbaseliy±na½; te sandh±ya pucch± sakav±dissa, paµiññ± itarassa. Cakkhun± r³pa½ passat²ti-±di “sam±pannassa t±va pañcadv±rappavatta½ natthi, tasmi½ asati yadi so sadda½ suºeyya, r³pampi passeyy±”ti codanattha½ vutta½. Saddo kaº¹akoti vikkhepakaratt± vutta½. O¼±rikena hi saddena sote ghaµµite paµhamajjh±nato vuµµh±na½ hoti, teneta½ vutta½, tasm± as±dhaka½. Dutiyassa jh±nass±ti-±di “yath± aññopi kaº¹ako antosam±pattiya½ natthi, eva½ saddassavanamp²”ti bodhanattha½ vutta½, ta½ sabba½ utt±natthamev±ti.

9. Cakkhun±r³pa½passat²tikath±vaººan±

826-827. Id±ni cakkhun± r³pa½ passat²tikath± n±ma hoti. Tattha “cakkhun± r³pa½ disv±”ti vacana½ niss±ya “pas±dacakkhumeva r³pa½ passat²”ti yesa½ laddhi, seyyath±pi mah±saªghik±na½ te sandh±ya pucch± sakav±dissa, paµiññ± itarassa. Atha na½ “yadi cakkhun± r³pa½ passeyya, r³pena r³pa½ passeyy±t²”ti codetu½ r³pena r³pa½ passat²ti ±ha. Itaro r³p±yatana½ sandh±ya paµikkhipitv± puna puµµho cakkhumeva sandh±ya paµij±n±ti. Paµivij±n±t²ti ettha ayamadhipp±yo– passat²ti hi maya½ paµij±nana½ sandh±ya pucch±ma, na cakkh³pasa½h±ramatta½. Tasm± vadehi t±va “ki½ te cakkhum± r³pena r³pa½ paµivij±n±t²”ti. Itaro purimanayeneva paµikkhipati ceva paµij±n±ti ca. Atha na½ “eva½ sante r³pa½ manoviññ±ºa½ ±pajjati, tañhi paµivij±n±ti n±m±”ti codetu½ r³pa½ manoviññ±ºanti ±ha. Itaro lesa½ alabhanto paµikkhipateva. Atthi cakkhussa ±vaµµan±ti-±di “yadi cakkhu paµivij±nanaµµhena passati, cakkhuviññ±ºassa viya tass±pi ±vajjan±ya bhavitabban”ti codetu½ pucchati. Itaro yasm± na ±vajjanapaµibaddha½ cakkhu, na ta½ ±vajjan±nantara½ uppajjati, tasm± na hevanti paµikkhipati. Sotena saddanti-±d²supi eseva nayo. Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cakkhun± r³pa½ passat²ti sasambh±rakath±nayena vutta½. Yath± hi usun± vijjhantopi “dhanun± vijjhat²”ti vuccati, eva½ cakkhuviññ±ºena passantopi “cakkhun± passat²”ti vutto, tasm± as±dhakameta½. Sesesupi eseva nayopi.
