Sukha½ vedana½ vedayam±noti-±d²su pana sukha½ vedananti k±yika½ v± cetasika½ v± sukha½ vedana½ vedayam±no ‘aha½ sukha½ vedana½ veday±m²’ti paj±n±t²ti attho. Tattha k±ma½ utt±naseyyak±pi d±rak± thańńapivan±dik±le sukha½ vedayam±n± ‘sukha½ vedana½ veday±m±’ti paj±nanti, na paneta½ evar³pa½ j±nana½ sandh±ya vutta½. Evar³pańhi j±nana½ satt³paladdhi½ nappajahati, sattasańńa½ na uggh±µeti, kammaµµh±na½ v± satipaµµh±nabh±van± v± na hoti. Imassa pana bhikkhuno j±nana½ satt³paladdhi½ pajahati, sattasańńa½ uggh±µeti, kammaµµh±nańceva satipaµµh±nabh±van± ca hoti. ‘Idańhi ko vedayati, kassa vedan±, ki½ k±raŗ± vedan±’ti eva½ sampaj±navediyana½ sandh±ya vutta½.
Tattha ko vedayat²ti? Na koci satto v± puggalo v± vedayati. Kassa vedan±ti? Na kassaci sattassa v± puggalassa v± vedan±. Ki½ k±raŗ± vedan±ti? Vatthu-±rammaŗ± ca panes± vedan±. Tasm± esa eva½ paj±n±ti– ‘ta½ ta½ sukh±d²na½ vatthu½ ±rammaŗa½ katv± vedan±va vedayati; ta½ pana vedan±pavatti½ up±d±ya ‘aha½ veday±m²’ti voh±ramatta½ hot²’ti. Eva½ vatthu½ ±rammaŗa½ katv± vedan±va vedayat²ti sallakkhento ‘esa sukha½ vedana½ veday±m²’ti paj±n±t²ti veditabbo, cittalapabbate ańńataro thero viya.
Thero kira aph±sukak±le balavavedan±ya nitthunanto apar±para½ parivattati. Tameko daharo ±ha “katara½ vo, bhante, µh±na½ rujat²”ti? “¾vuso, p±µiyekka½ rujanaµµh±na½ n±ma natthi; vatthu½ ±rammaŗa½ katv± vedan±va vedayat²”ti. “Eva½ j±nanak±lato paµµh±ya adhiv±setu½ vaµµati no, bhante”ti. “Adhiv±semi, ±vuso”ti. “Adhiv±san±, bhante, seyyo”ti. Thero adhiv±sesi. V±to y±va haday± ph±lesi. Mańcake ant±ni r±s²kat±ni ahesu½. Thero daharassa dassesi– “vaµµat±vuso, ettak± adhiv±san±”ti? Daharo tuŗh² ahosi. Thero v²riyasam±dhi½ yojetv± sahapaµisambhid±hi arahatta½ p±puŗitv± samas²s² hutv± parinibb±yi.
Yath± ca sukha½, eva½ dukkha½…pe… nir±misa½ adukkhamasukha½ vedana½ vedayam±no ‘nir±misa½ adukkhamasukha½ vedana½ veday±m²”ti paj±n±ti. Iti bhagav± r³pakammaµµh±na½ kathetv± ar³pakammaµµh±na½ kathento vedan±vasena kathesi. Duvidhańhi kammaµµh±na½– r³pakammaµµh±na½ ar³pakammaµµh±nańca; r³papariggaho ar³papariggahotipi etadeva vuccati. Tattha bhagav± r³pakammaµµh±na½ kathento saŖkhepamanasik±ravasena v± vitth±ramanasik±ravasena v± catudh±tuvavatth±na½ kathesi. Tadubhayampi visuddhimagge sabb±k±rato dassitameva.
Ar³pakammaµµh±na½ pana kathento yebhuyyena vedan±vasena kathesi. Tividho hi ar³pakammaµµh±ne abhiniveso– phassavasena, vedan±vasena, cittavasen±ti. Katha½? Ekaccassa hi sa½khittena v± vitth±rena v± pariggahite r³pakammaµµh±ne tasmi½ ±rammaŗe cittacetasik±na½ paµham±bhinip±to ta½ ±rammaŗa½ phusanto uppajjam±no phasso p±kaµo hoti. Ekaccassa ta½ ±rammaŗa½ anubhavant² uppajjam±n± vedan± p±kaµ± hoti. Ekaccassa ta½ ±rammaŗa½ pariggahetv± vij±nanta½ uppajjam±na½ vińń±ŗa½ p±kaµa½ hoti.
Tattha yassa phasso p±kaµo hoti, sopi ‘na kevala½ phassova uppajjati; tena saddhi½ tadev±rammaŗa½ anubhavam±n± vedan±pi uppajjati, sańj±nam±n± sańń±pi, cetayam±n± cetan±pi, vij±nanam±na½ vińń±ŗampi uppajjat²’ti phassapańcamakeyeva pariggaŗh±ti. Yassa vedan± p±kaµ± hoti, sopi ‘na kevala½ vedan±va uppajjati; t±ya saddhi½ tadev±rammaŗa½ phusam±no phassopi uppajjati, sańj±nanam±n± sańń±pi, cetayam±n± cetan±pi, vij±nanam±na½ vińń±ŗampi uppajjat²’ti phassapańcamakeyeva pariggaŗh±ti. Yassa vińń±ŗa½ p±kaµa½ hoti, sopi ‘na kevala½ vińń±ŗameva uppajjati; tena saddhi½ tadev±rammaŗa½ phusam±no phassopi uppajjati, anubhavam±n± vedan±pi, sańj±nanam±n± sańń±pi, cetayam±n± cetan±pi uppajjat²’ti phassapańcamakeyeva pariggaŗh±ti.
So ‘ime phassapańcamak± dhamm± ki½nissit±’ti upadh±rento ‘vatthunissit±’ti paj±n±ti. Vatthu n±ma karajak±yo; ya½ sandh±ya vutta½ “idańca pana me vińń±ŗa½ etthasita½, etthapaµibaddhan”ti (d². ni. 1.235). So atthato bh³t±ni ceva up±d±r³p±ni ca. Evamettha vatthu r³pa½, phassapańcamak± n±manti n±mar³pameva passati. R³pańcettha r³pakkhandho, n±ma½ catt±ro ar³pino khandh±ti pańcakkhandhamatta½ hoti. N±mar³pavinimutt± hi pańcakkhandh± pańcakkhandhavinimutta½ v± n±mar³pa½ natthi.
So ‘ime pańcakkhandh± ki½hetuk±’ti upaparikkhanto ‘avijj±dihetuk±’ti passati; tato paccayo ceva paccayuppannańca ida½; ańńo satto v± puggalo v± natthi; suddhasaŖkh±rapuńjamattamev±ti sappaccayan±mar³pavasenava tilakkhaŗa½ ±ropetv± vipassan±paµip±µiy± ‘anicca½ dukkha½ anatt±’ti sammasanto vicarati. So ‘ajja ajj±’ti paµivedha½ ±kaŖkham±no tath±r³pe divase utusapp±ya½, puggalasapp±ya½, bhojanasapp±ya½, dhammasavanasapp±ya½ v± labhitv± ekapallaŖkena nisinnova vipassana½ matthaka½ p±petv± arahatte patiµµh±ti. Eva½ imesa½ tiŗŗampi jan±na½ y±va arahatt± kammaµµh±na½ kathita½ hoti.
Idha pana bhagav± ar³pakammaµµh±na½ kathento vedan±vasena kathesi. Phassavasena v± hi vińń±ŗavasena v± kathiyam±na½ na p±kaµa½ hoti, andhak±ra½ viya kh±yati. Vedan±vasena pana p±kaµa½ hoti. Kasm±? Vedan±na½ uppattip±kaµat±ya. Sukhadukkhavedan±nańhi uppatti p±kaµ±. Yad± sukha½ uppajjati, sakalasar²ra½ khobhenta½ maddanta½ pharam±na½ abhisandayam±na½ satadhotasappi½ kh±d±payanta½ viya, satap±katela½ makkh±payam±na½ viya, udakaghaµasahassena pari¼±ha½ nibb±payam±na½ viya, ‘aho sukha½! Aho sukhanti’! V±ca½ nicch±rayam±nameva uppajjati. Yad± dukkha½ uppajjati, sakalasar²ra½ khobhenta½ maddanta½ pharam±na½ abhisandayam±na½ tattaph±la½ pavesenta½ viya, vil²natambalohena ±sińcanta½ viya, sukkhatiŗavanappatimhi arańńe d±ru-ukk±kal±pa½ pakkhipam±na½ viya ‘aho dukkha½! Aho dukkhanti!’ Vippal±payam±nameva uppajjati. Iti sukhadukkhavedan±na½ uppatti p±kaµ± hoti.
Adukkhamasukh± pana dudd²pan± andhak±r± avibh³t±. S± sukhadukkh±na½ apagame s±t±s±tapaµikkhepavasena majjhatt±k±rabh³t± adukkhamasukh± vedan±ti nayato gaŗhantassa p±kaµ± hoti. Yath± ki½? Antar± piµµhip±s±ŗa½ ±ruhitv± pal±yantassa migassa anupatha½ gacchanto migaluddako piµµhip±s±ŗassa orabh±ge aparabh±gepi pada½ disv± majjhe apassantopi ‘ito ±ru¼ho, ito oru¼ho, majjhe piµµhip±s±ŗe imin± padesena gato bhavissat²’ti nayato j±n±ti. Eva½ ±ru¼haµµh±ne pada½ viya hi sukh±ya vedan±ya uppatti p±kaµ± hoti; oru¼haµµh±ne pada½ viya dukkh±ya vedan±ya uppatti p±kaµ± hoti. ‘Ito ±ru¼ho, ito oru¼ho, majjhe eva½ gato’ti nayato gahaŗa½ viya sukhadukkh±na½ apagame s±t±s±tapaµikkhepavasena majjhatt±k±rabh³t± adukkhamasukh± vedan±ti nayato gaŗhantassa p±kaµ± hoti.
Eva½ bhagav± paµhama½ r³pakammaµµh±na½ kathetv± pacch± ar³pakammaµµh±na½ kathento vedan±vasena vinivattetv± dassesi; na kevalańca idheva eva½ dasseti, d²ghanik±yamhi mah±nid±ne, sakkapańhe, mah±satipaµµh±ne majjhimanik±yamhi satipaµµh±ne ca c³¼ataŗh±saŖkhaye, mah±taŗh±saŖkhaye, c³¼avedalle, mah±vedalle, raµµhap±lasutte, m±gaŗ¹iyasutte, dh±tuvibhaŖge, ±neńjasapp±ye, sa½yuttanik±yamhi c³¼anid±nasutte, rukkhopame, pariv²ma½sanasutte, sakale vedan±sa½yutteti eva½ anekesu suttesu paµhama½ r³pakammaµµh±na½ kathetv± pacch± ar³pakammaµµh±na½ vedan±vasena vinivattetv± dassesi. Yath± ca tesu tesu, eva½ imasmimpi satipaµµh±navibhaŖge paµhama½ r³pakammaµµh±na½ kathetv± pacch± ar³pakammaµµh±na½ vedan±vasena vinivattetv± dassesi.
Tattha sukha½ vedananti-±d²su aya½ aparopi paj±nanapariy±yo– sukha½ vedana½ veday±m²ti paj±n±t²ti sukhavedan±kkhaŗe dukkh±ya vedan±ya abh±vato sukha½ vedana½ vedayam±no ‘sukha½ vedana½ veday±m²’ti paj±n±ti. Tena y± pubbe bh³tapubb± dukkh± vedan±, tass± id±ni abh±vato imiss± ca sukh±ya ito paµhama½ abh±vato vedan± n±ma anicc± addhuv± vipariŗ±madhamm±ti itiha tattha sampaj±no hoti. Vuttampi ceta½ bhagavat±–
“Yasmi½, aggivessana, samaye sukha½ vedana½ vedeti, neva tasmi½ samaye dukkha½ vedana½ vedeti, na adukkhamasukha½ vedana½ vedeti, sukha½yeva tasmi½ samaye vedana½ vedeti. Yasmi½ aggivessana, samaye dukkha½…pe… adukkhamasukha½ vedana½ vedeti, neva tasmi½ samaye sukha½ vedana½ vedeti, na dukkha½ vedana½ vedeti, adukkhamasukha½yeva tasmi½ samaye vedana½ vedeti. Sukh±pi kho, aggivessana vedan± anicc± saŖkhat± paµiccasamuppann± khayadhamm± vayadhamm± vir±gadhamm± nirodhadhamm±. Dukkh±pi kho…pe… adukkhamasukh±pi kho, aggivessana, vedan± anicc± saŖkhat±…pe… nirodhadhamm±. Eva½ passa½, aggivessana, sutav± ariyas±vako sukh±yapi vedan±ya nibbindati, dukkh±yapi vedan±ya nibbindati, adukkhamasukh±yapi vedan±ya nibbindati, nibbinda½ virajjati, vir±g± vimuccati, vimuttasmi½ vimuttamiti ń±ŗa½ hoti; ‘kh²ŗ± j±ti, vusita½ brahmacariya½, kata½ karaŗ²ya½, n±para½ itthatt±y±’ti paj±n±t²”ti (ma. ni. 2.205).
S±misa½ v± sukhanti-±d²su s±mis± sukh± n±ma pańcak±maguŗ±misanissit± cha gehassitasomanassavedan±; nir±mis± sukh± n±ma cha nekkhammassitasomanassavedan±; s±mis± dukkh± n±ma cha gehassitadomanassavedan±; nir±mis± dukkh± n±ma cha nekkhammassitadomanassavedan±; s±mis± adukkhamasukh± n±ma cha gehasita-upekkh±vedan±; nir±mis± adukkhamasukh± n±ma cha nekkhammassita-upekkh±vedan±. T±sa½ vibh±go uparipaŗŗ±se p±¼iya½ (ma. ni. 3.304 ±dayo) ±gatoyeva. So ta½ nimittanti so ta½ vedan±nimitta½. Bahiddh± vedan±s³ti parapuggalassa vedan±su. Sukha½ vedana½ vedayam±nanti parapuggala½ sukhavedana½ vedayam±na½. Ajjhattabahiddh±ti k±lena attano k±lena parassa vedan±su citta½ upasa½harati. Imasmi½ v±re yasm± neva att±, na paro niyamito; tasm± vedan±pariggahamattameva dassetu½ “idha bhikkhu sukha½ vedana½ sukh± vedan±”ti-±di vutta½. Sesamettha utt±nameva. Imasmi½ pana pabbe suddhavipassan±va kathit±ti.
