B±hir±nañhi janakajanettisukkasoºit±h±r±d²na½ paccay±na½ samattepi satt±na½ yamak±nampi sata½ h²napaº²tat±diviseso dissati. So ca na ahetuko sabbad± ca sabbesañca abh±vato; na kammabhavato aññahetuko, tadabhinibbattakasatt±na½ ajjhattasant±ne aññassa k±raºassa abh±vatoti kammabhavahetukova. Yasm± ca asati j±tiy± jar±maraºa½ n±ma na hoti, sok±dayo ca dhamm± na honti, j±tiy± pana sati jar±maraºañceva jar±maraºasaªkh±tadukkhadhammaphuµµhassa ca b±lassa jar±maraº±bhisambandh± v± tena tena dukkhadhammena phuµµhassa anabhisambandh± v± sok±dayo ca dhamm± honti, tasm± aya½ j±tijar±maraºassa ceva sok±d²nañca paccayo hot²ti veditabb±. Yasm± pana eva½ paccayabh±ve bh±vato avijj±ya siddh±ya puna “avijj±paccay± saªkh±r±, saªkh±rapaccay± viññ±ºan”ti eva½ hetuphalaparampar±ya pariyos±na½ natthi, tasm± ta½ hetuphalasambandhavasena pavatta½ dv±dasaªga½ ‘bhavacakka½ avidit±d²’ti siddha½ hoti.
Eva½ sati “avijj±paccay± saªkh±r±”ti ida½ ±dimattakathana½ virujjhat²ti ce? Nayida½ ±dimattakathana½, padh±nadhammakathana½ paneta½. Tiººañhi vaµµ±na½ avijj± padh±n±. Avijj±ggahaºena hi avasesa½ kilesavaµµañca kamm±d²ni ca b±la½ paliveµhenti, sappasiraggahaºena sesa½ sappasar²ra½ viya b±ha½. Avijj±samucchede pana kate tehi vimokkho hoti, sappasiracchede kate paliveµhitab±h±vimokkho viya. Yath±ha– “avijj±yatveva asesavir±ganirodh± saªkh±ranirodho”ti-±di (sa½. ni. 2.1; mah±va. 1). Tattha purima½ diµµhicaritavasena vutta½, pacchima½ taºh±caritavasena. Diµµhicarit±nañhi avijj±, taºh±carit±na½ taºh± sa½s±ran±yik±. Ucchedadiµµhisamuggh±t±ya v± paµhama½, phaluppattiy± het³na½ anupacchedapak±sanato; sassatadiµµhisamuggh±t±ya dutiya½, uppann±na½ jar±maraºapak±sanato; gabbhaseyyakavasena v± purima½, anupubbapavattid²panato; opap±tikavasena pacchima½ sahuppattid²panato.

Ten±ha “purimakammabhavasmi½ moho avijj±, ±y³han± saªkh±r±, nikanti taºh±, upagamana½ up±d±na½, cetan± bhavo, ime pañca dhamm± purimakammabhavasmi½ idha paµisandhiy± paccay±”ti (paµi. ma. 1.47).

Moho avijj±ti yo tad± dukkh±d²su moho, yena m³¼ho kamma½ karoti, s± avijj±. ¾y³han± saªkh±r±ti ta½ kamma½ karoto purimacetan±yo, yath± ‘d±na½ dass±m²’ti citta½ upp±detv± m±sampi sa½vaccharampi d±n³pakaraº±ni sajjentassa uppann± purimacetan±yo. Paµigg±hak±na½ pana hatthe dakkhiºa½ patiµµh±payato cetan± bhavoti vuccati. Ek±vajjanesu v± chasu javanesu cetan± ±y³hanasaªkh±r± n±ma. Sattam± cetan± bhavo. Y± k±ci v± pana cetan± bhavo, ta½sampayutt± ±y³hanasaªkh±r± n±ma. Nikanti taºh±ti y± kamma½ karontassa tassa phale uppattibhave nik±man± patthan± s± taºh± n±ma. Upagamana½ up±d±nanti ya½ kamma½ bhavassa paccayabh³ta½; ‘ida½ katv± asukasmi½ n±ma µh±ne k±me seviss±mi ucchijjiss±m²’ti-±din± nayena pavatta½ upagamana½ gahaºa½ par±masana½– ida½ up±d±na½ n±ma. Cetan± bhavoti ±y³han±vas±ne vuttacetan± bhavoti evamattho veditabbo.

Yath±ha “idha paµisandhi viññ±ºa½, okkanti n±mar³pa½, pas±do ±yatana½, phuµµho phasso, vedayita½ vedan± ime pañca dhamm± idh³papattibhavasmi½ purekatassa kammassa paccay±”ti (paµi. ma. 1.47). Tattha paµisandhi viññ±ºanti ya½ bhavantarapaµisandh±navasena uppannatt± paµisandh²ti vuccati, ta½ viññ±ºa½. Ten±ha “idha paripakkatt± ±yatan±na½ moho avijj±, ±y³han± saªkh±r±, nikanti taºh±, upagamana½ up±d±na½, cetan± bhavo. Ime pañca dhamm± idha kammabhavasmi½ ±yati½ paµisandhiy± paccay±”ti (paµi. ma. 1.47). Tattha idha paripakkatt± ±yatan±nanti paripakk±yatanassa kammakaraºak±le sammoho dassito. Sesa½ utt±nameva.
