Tattha ‘samodh±nan’ti sabbameva hida½ r³pa½ samodh±nato cakkh±yatana½…pe… kaba¼²k±ro ±h±ro, phoµµhabb±yatana½ ±podh±t³ti pańcav²satisaŖkhya½ hoti. Ta½ vatthur³pena saddhi½ chabb²satisaŖkhya½ veditabba½. Ito ańńa½ r³pa½ n±ma natthi. Keci pana ‘middhar³pa½ n±ma atth²’ti vadanti. Te “addh± mun²si sambuddho, natthi n²varaŗ± tav±”ti-±d²ni (su. ni. 546) vatv± middhar³pa½ n±ma natth²ti paµisedhetabb±. Apare balar³pena saddhi½ sattav²sati, sambhavar³pena saddhi½ aµµhav²sati, j±tir³pena saddhi½ ek³nati½sati, rogar³pena saddhi½ samati½sati r³p±n²ti vadanti. Tepi tesa½ visu½ abh±va½ dassetv± paµikkhipitabb±. V±yodh±tuy± hi gahit±ya balar³pa½ gahitameva, ańńa½ balar³pa½ n±ma natthi. ¾podh±tuy± sambhavar³pa½, upacayasantat²hi j±tir³pa½, jarat±-aniccat±hi gahit±hi rogar³pa½ gahitameva. Ańńa½ rogar³pa½ n±ma natthi. Yopi kaŗŗarog±di ±b±dho so visamapaccayasamuµµhitadh±tumattameva. Na ańńo tattha rogo n±ma atth²ti samodh±nato chabb²satimeva r³p±ni.
‘Samuµµh±nan’ti kati r³p±ni katisamuµµh±n±ni? Dasa ekasamuµµh±n±ni, eka½ dvisamuµµh±na½, t²ŗi tisamuµµh±n±ni, nava catusamuµµh±n±ni, dve na kenaci samuµµhahanti.
Tattha cakkhupas±do…pe… j²vitindriyanti im±ni aµµha ekanta½ kammatova samuµµhahanti. K±yavińńattivac²vińńattidvaya½ ekantena cittato samuµµh±t²ti dasa ‘ekasamuµµh±n±ni’ n±ma. Saddo ututo ca cittato ca samuµµh±t²ti eko ‘dvisamuµµh±no’ n±ma. Tattha avińń±ŗakasaddo ututo samuµµh±ti, savińń±ŗakasaddo cittato. Lahut±dittaya½ pana utucitt±h±rehi samuµµh±t²ti t²ŗi ‘tisamuµµh±n±ni’ n±ma. Avases±ni nava r³p±ni tehi kammena c±ti cat³hi samuµµhahant²ti nava ‘catusamuµµh±n±ni’ n±ma. Jarat± aniccat± pana etesu ekatopi na samuµµhahant²ti dve ‘na kenaci samuµµhahanti’ n±ma. Kasm±? Aj±yanato. Na hi et±ni j±yanti. Kasm±? J±tassa p±kabhedatt±. Uppannańhi r³pa½ j²rati bhijjat²ti avassa½ paneta½ sampaµicchitabba½. Na hi uppanna½ r³pa½ ar³pa½ v± akkhaya½ n±ma dissati. Tattha siy±– yath± ‘kammassa katatt±’ti ±diniddesesu ‘r³passa upacayo r³passa santat²’ti vacanena ‘j±ti’ j±yat²ti sampaµicchita½ hoti, eva½ ‘p±ko’pi paccatu ‘bhedo’pi bhijjat³ti. “Na tattha ‘j±ti j±yat²’ti sampaµicchita½. Ye pana dhamm± kamm±d²hi nibbattanti tesa½ abhinibbattibh±vato j±tiy± tappaccayabh±vavoh±ro anumato. Na pana paramatthato j±ti j±yati. J±yam±nassa hi abhinibbattimatta½ j±t²”ti.
Tattha siy±– ‘yatheva j±ti yesa½ dhamm±na½ abhinibbatti tappaccayabh±vavoh±ra½ abhinibbattivoh±rańca labhati, tath± p±kabhed±pi yesa½ dhamm±na½ p±kabhed± tappaccayabh±vavoh±ra½ abhinibbattivoh±rańca labhantu. Eva½ idampi dvaya½ kamm±disamuµµh±namev±ti vattabba½ bhavissat²’ti. ‘Na p±kabhed± ta½ voh±ra½ labhanti. Kasm±? Janakapaccay±nubh±vakkhaŗe abh±vato. Janakapaccay±nańhi upp±detabbadhammassa upp±dakkhaŗeyeva ±nubh±vo, na tato uttari. Tehi abhinibbattitadhammakkhaŗasmińca j±ti pańń±yam±n± tappaccayabh±vavoh±ra½ abhinibbattivoh±rańca labhati, tasmi½ khaŗe sabbh±vato; na itaradvaya½, tasmi½ khaŗe abh±vatoti neveta½ j±yat²’ti vattabba½. “Jar±maraŗa½, bhikkhave, anicca½ saŖkhata½ paµiccasamuppannan”ti (sa½. ni. 2.20) ±gatatt± idampi dvaya½ j±yat²ti ce– ‘na, pariy±yadesitatt±. Tattha hi paµiccasamuppann±na½ dhamm±na½ jar±maraŗatt± pariy±yena ta½ paµiccasamuppannan’ti vutta½.
‘Yadi eva½, tayampeta½ aj±tatt± sasavis±ŗa½ viya natthi; nibb±na½ viya v± niccan’ti ce– na, nissayapaµibaddhavuttito; pathav²-±d²nańhi nissay±na½ bh±ve j±ti-±dittaya½ pańń±yati, tasm± na natthi. Tesańca abh±ve na pańń±yati, tasm± na nicca½. Etampi ca abhinivesa½ paµisedhetu½ eva ida½ vutta½– “jar±maraŗa½, bhikkhave, anicca½ saŖkhata½ paµiccasamuppannan”ti (sa½. ni. 2.20). Evam±d²hi nayehi t±ni dve r³p±ni na kehici samuµµhahant²ti veditabba½.
Apica ‘samuµµh±nan’ti ettha ayamańńopi attho. Tass±ya½ m±tik±– ‘kammaja½ kammapaccaya½ kammapaccaya-utusamuµµh±na½, ±h±rasamuµµh±na½ ±h±rapaccaya½ ±h±rapaccaya-utusamuµµh±na½, utusamuµµh±na½ utupaccaya½ utupaccaya-utusamuµµh±na½, cittasamuµµh±na½ cittapaccaya½ cittapaccaya-utusamuµµh±nan’ti.

¾h±rato samuµµhita½ suddhaµµhaka½ ‘±h±rasamuµµh±na½’ n±ma. Kaba¼²k±ro ±h±ro dvinnampi r³pasantat²na½ paccayo hoti ±h±rasamuµµh±nassa ca up±dinnassa ca. ¾h±rasamuµµh±nassa janako hutv± paccayo hoti, kammajassa anup±lako hutv±ti ida½ ±h±r±nup±lita½ kammajar³pa½ ‘±h±rapaccaya½’ n±ma. Visabh±g±h±ra½ sevitv± ±tape gacchantassa tilakak±¼akuµµh±d²ni uppajjanti, ida½ ‘±h±rapaccaya-utusamuµµh±na½’ n±ma.
Ututo samuµµhita½ suddhaµµhaka½ ‘utusamuµµh±na½’ n±ma. Tasmi½ utu ańńa½ aµµhaka½ samuµµh±peti, ida½ ‘utupaccaya½’ n±ma. Tasmimpi utu ańńa½ aµµhaka½ samuµµh±peti, ida½ ‘utupaccaya-utusamuµµh±na½’ n±ma. Eva½ tissoyeva santatiyo ghaµµetu½ sakkoti. Na tato para½. Imamattha½ anup±dinnaken±pi d²petu½ vaµµati. Utusamuµµh±no n±ma val±hako. Utupaccay± n±ma vuµµhidh±r±. Deve pana vuµµhe b²j±ni vir³hanti, pathav² gandha½ muńcati, pabbat± n²l± kh±yanti, samuddo va¹¹hati, eta½ utupaccaya-utusamuµµh±na½ n±ma.
Cittato samuµµhita½ suddhaµµhaka½ ‘cittasamuµµh±na½’ n±ma. “Pacch±j±t± cittacetasik± dhamm± purej±tassa imassa k±yassa pacch±j±tapaccayena paccayo”ti (paµµh±. 1.1.11) ida½ ‘cittapaccaya½’ n±ma. ¾k±se antalikkhe hatthimpi dasseti, assampi dasseti, rathampi dasseti vividhampi sen±by³ha½ dassetit² (paµi. ma. 3.18) ida½ ‘cittapaccaya-utusamuµµh±na½’ n±ma.
‘Parinipphannan’ti pannarasa r³p±ni parinipphann±ni n±ma, dasa aparinipphann±ni n±ma. ‘Yadi aparinipphann±, asaŖkhat± n±ma bhaveyyu½’. “Tesa½yeva pana r³p±na½ k±yavik±ro ‘k±yavińńatti’ n±ma, vac²vik±ro ‘vac²vińńatti’ n±ma, chidda½ vivara½ ‘±k±sadh±tu’ n±ma, lahubh±vo ‘lahut±’ n±ma, mudubh±vo ‘mudut±’ n±ma, kammańńabh±vo ‘kammańńat±’ n±ma, nibbatti ‘upacayo’ n±ma, pavatti ‘santati’ n±ma, j²raŗ±k±ro ‘jarat±’ n±ma, hutv± abh±v±k±ro ‘aniccat±’ n±m±ti.
